Laurie Smith resides in Mono Township, Orangeville, Ontario. She has been working as an artist and designer for over 30 years. Most recently, her large canvas acrylic paintings have been demanded for commercial installations in Guelph, Barrie, Stratford, Newmarket and Brampton Ontario. Laurie's passion for candid paintings of people and places using watercolour, acrylic, chalk pastels and digital canvas has landed her three NAPP International Editors Choice Awards for "Evening Prayers" July 2009, "Autumn Hike" June 2008 and "Eyes of Despair" December 2006.Laurie Smith is the owner and creative director of programing for Zion Arts Studio, a hands-on teaching studio, located in Mono Township, Orangeville, Ontario. This teaching studio has been operating in the Hockley Valley since 2008 and has a well established base of clients from the Hills of Headwaters region. Z'Arts Studio liaises with local artists for workshops and studio classes, offering quality, fun and creative learning experiences in various fine art genres, pottery and digital media.
