Cartooning & Illustration (Gr. 3-6)

Learn to draw fun and unique cartoon characters and creatures. As you create your own comic strip, you will learn how to draw funny faces, strange aliens and hilarious animals. Create your own action book using animation techniques.

Drawing and Painting (Gr. 6-9), (5 student max per class)

August 9 - August 12, 1:00 - 4:00 pm
While experimenting with an exciting variety of the artist's tools, media and techniques, students will learn to explore and trust their imaginations and creative instincts. Working from still life, photographs and images from art history, students will be introduced to drawing and painting fundamentals and techniques. These include line, value, shape, pattern, texture, shading, highlighting, colour perspective and collage. Young artists will further develop their artistic skills while discovering their own personal style.

Learn how to draw while unleashing your creative instincts. Using pencils, conté, charcoal and acrylic inks students will learn fundamental drawing techniques such as value, line weights, shading, and highlighting. Students will work from photographs and images from art history.

Painting Portraits (Gr. 7-10), (5 student max per class)

August 16 - August 19, 1:00 - 4:00 pm
Discover your own personal style and individual expression while learning the techniques needed for creating a portrait painting. Learn how shape, dimension, measuring properties, shading/highlighting and colour mixing apply to the human form. Subject matter will include drawings and photographs.
